Crocker-Kingsley Art Competition at Blue Line Arts, Roseville, CA

Deadline: Online applications must be submitted by 5:00pm PST on December 6, 2018
The Crocker-Kingsley Exhibition was first juried in 1940, a tradition that continues to the present day. This year’s
exhibition will include 60 works of art, all of which will be exhibited at Blue Line Arts in Roseville. Works will be
juried, and the winners will receive cash awards of $2000, $1500, $1000, $750 and $250. Crocker Art Museum
staff will then select five pieces from the show, which may or may not be award winners, for display at the
museum following the exhibit at Blue Line Arts from March 3rd through May 5th, 2019.

30th Annual CALIFORNIA CLAY COMPETITION EXHIBIT at The Artery in Davis
in conjunction with the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art, sponsored by the John
Natsoulas Gallery in Davis CA.
Deadline: February 16, 2019
The Artery, home of the Artists’ Cooperative of Davis, has sponsored the California Clay Competition since 1990
to give California ceramic artists an opportunity to display their work during the California Conference for the
Advancement of Ceramic Art. For information about the CCACA, phone John Natsoulas Gallery at 530-756-

The competition is open to all living California artists. Works accepted must be for sale, available for the
duration of the exhibit, and made within the last two years.

Since the first ceramics were created, like Venus of Dolní Věstonice, before 25,000 BCE and pottery vessels that
were discovered in Jiangxi, China, which date back to 18,000 BC, people have been fascinated with clay.
Northern California has a rich history of talented ceramic artists from Robert Arneson to Peter Voulkos. Blue
Line Arts is excited to showcase the innovation of ceramic techniques and vision from around the world during
this annual show. Ceramic artists who want to share their vision of ceramic art are encouraged to apply.
